// My Illusions*

It seems like football fans are against Football Channel. Hmm? Ok, I have to admit that I used to hate Football Channel but after a while, to think about it, it wasn't that bad. (Well, now more football channels are shown live. SuperSports (channel 22), SuperSports plus (channel 21 if not wrong), Football Channel (channel 27).)
People complain of their picture and audio quality and about transmission breakdown. Well? Breakdown? Such things do happen. If I remember correctly, the same thing happened while I was watching Turkey versus Germany (Euro 2008). Not only here in Singapore was affected, other people from other countries encountered the same.
Some might say, who would want to watch (for example) Fulham versus Middlesbrough? Well, even though I don't support them, at times I do have the urge to watch.
Well? As a neutral that is (I'm a Chelsea supporter). They (e.g: Fulham, Everton, Middlesbrough, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspurs, Aston Villa,etc.) may not be as famous as the BIG FOUR teams (Manchester United, CHELSEA, Liverpool, Arsenal) but hey, Middlesbrough have Stewart Downing, Afonso Alves (which in my opinion aren't that bad) and Fulham? They definitely ARE very busy in the transfer market having brought in (no less of) 10 new signings (as of today). Their latest signing: Andy Johnson from Everton.
So you see, it's like... People always want the good things (yes, who doesn't want? Think BRANDS: Chanel, LV, Burberry,Prada, Gucci, Chloe, etc.). Bad things (or should I say the less popular ones)? They are not bothered about it. They will go - "WHO CARES?" (That is an expected response, or should I say - The mostly commonly used reply)
That's how I feel about things. It's like everyone wants to fit in and everyone doesn't want to be different. They want to be the same as everyone else. I mean, who wants to be the weirdo? Then again, that doesn't mean we all have to be the same. It's a painful sight to see people trying to copy one another and trying to act as though they are tai-tais. (Well? I'm off the football topic now. I'm just speaking my opinion out only. It's really tiring to go on and on to debate. (: )
Speaking of tai-tais, what do people actually know about it? I've read in forums before and I actually laughed. "I don't work, my hubby works and I use his money to buy things. Although I live in a HDB flat lah." HDB? She's not working and her husband is working? I live in a HDB 5-Room flat, my dad is working and my mother isn't (my dad doesn't trust maid; no offence to the maids out there). Does that makes my mum (my mum used to work but resigned when she gave birth to me) a tai-tai? Sheesh. *roll eyes*
Is it the standard of living in Singapore too expensive and "demanding" to the extend people have become materialistic? Or what?
It isn't wrong to own brand goods. Provided that you are able to afford and not go into debt. If you go into debt just to have all the branded goods, what's the use? It's more like - TRYING TO BRAG.
The things that I have, are things that I (ok, most of the things that I have are money from my parents) am able to afford. Opinions may be differ but whatever it is, I am simply pleased with what I have. We should appreciate what we have. Do not be blinded. Have your own mind and speak your mind out.
The bottom line is: Be who you are and not copy. Be brave and speak your mind out.
Oh yes, before I go...
